Editorial Standards
Normas Editoriales
GoImmigrant.org is a free community resource for immigrants. These are the standards we follow for every article.
Sources
- Every article links to its sources at the bottom of the page.
- We rely on official government documents, court records, and published reporting from established news organizations. When we summarize another outlet's reporting, we name that outlet.
- We do not invent quotes, interviews, statistics, or firsthand experiences.
Article labels
- News: reports what happened or what changed, based on cited sources.
- Analysis: explains and puts in context reporting or documents from others, including what it may mean for readers.
- Opinion: a clearly marked point of view.
Not legal advice
Our articles are general information, not legal advice. Rules change and every case is different. For help with your situation, talk to a licensed immigration attorney or a DOJ-accredited representative, never a "notario."
Translations
Translated versions are meant to match the English article. If a translation and the English version differ, the English version is the reference, and we will review the translation when we learn of it.
Privacy
We do not ask readers for their immigration status.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and note the change. See our Corrections page. To report an error, email dave.llmsec@gmail.com.

No es asesoría legal
Nuestros artículos son información general, no asesoría legal. Las reglas cambian y cada caso es diferente. Para ayuda con su situación, hable con un abogado de inmigración con licencia o un representante acreditado por el DOJ, nunca con un "notario".
